This library resides in a much more dangerous side of the slums. Trafficking is high, and gang related violence is far more prevalent. The military no longer have a presence in this area after being pushed out by the crime lords and raw power of the gangs. Most of the people who tour this part of the slums are either part of these gangs or have a warrant on their heads. Many of the local residents have moved off to other parts of the slum but those who remain keep themselves out of sight.
Walking through you can't help but notice a massive pentagonal building. There are two entrances, one on each of the frontal faces. Large columns are erected all around the building holding up the overhanging structure of the building that creates cover from the elements. Many of the columns are broken from both age and gang activity's. sections of the overhang have crumbled and left the building deformed. the checkered flooring around the outside of the building is decorated with battle scars from bullets and improvised explosive devices. While the overhang is in questionable condition the actual buildings structural integrity still holds true. Walking toward an entrance you see the name of the building engraved over each entrance "Meteobach".
Once you are through the doors you see a reception desk (from whichever entrance you came from) hanging over the desk from the ceiling is lengths of plastic string. covering the desk are letters and a few bars. the bars and letters both have drill holes in them and rusted screws and bolts litter the floors. looking passed the reception desk you can see many micro staging areas for the library's displays the plaques describing the items that would be on display are still in tact but all the items are long since pillaged. The long hallway is cluttered with dust, old books (illegible), rubble, shattered glass, and a few unidentifiable robots broken beyond repair.
If you count as you walk down the halls you can determine there are 30 stacks to both your right and your left and they seem to go forever standing at 10ft high in most cases. halfway down a row of books there is a break that will allow you access to other stacks in the same area. You can tell at one point the library was fully automated allowing access to the higher up books via computer systems. Now the system is dead and many of the stacks have been pushed over and others looted and salvaged by who knows what. Rats make their homes frequently in this place. There are stairs, escalators, and elevators that will take you to the other floors of the building where there is more of the same.
Every one of the upper floors has a reception desk at both the north and south points. Little islands where people would work full time helping people who came to the library. While there are security measures around the building (not functional) there seems to be no place on any of the three floors of the building where they can monitor the goings on.
In the central area of the library there is a wide open once gardened area for people to relax while reading their favorite books. At the heart of this area was a statue of a young man in a business suit standing atop a heap of books made from stone slabs. It remains mostly in tact suffering very little damage aside from the odd bullet impression and 2 of the fingers of the statue have fallen victim to what seems to be a 45. magnum bullet to the trained eye. The embroidery on this statue reads clearly "Meteobach made possible by Arthur Penton". One of the statues hands is clearly outstretched and seems as though at one point was holding something. looking up you see a large cracked completely translucent covering.
